Windows Virtual Earth
Microsoft’s answer to Google Earth / Maps is Virtual Earth. This has been kicking around for a while now and seems pretty slick.
But now MS have added a new feature : Street Rides.
Basically you have a two-pane window, with the top forming front and side shots of the streets and the other pane contains the virtual earth maps as normal, but with a little car symbol on top showing you where you are.
By using the keyboard you are able to ‘drive down the streets’ of Seattle and San Francisco (only two cities at present – and only their city centres sadly). You’ll need a broadband connection though!
