VW 20-story Car Tower
Posted on May 12, 2006, under Cars, Technology.
Volkswagen have an amazing car storage centre in Wolfsburg, Germany (click thumbnail to englare).
I’m sure I’ve heard of these kind of things before somewhere else on the net, manufacturers in Japan I think.
From the main site blurb :
“In a fully automated procedure, your new car is brought down to you from one of the 20-story Car Towers. Large signboards in the Customer Center show you when your turn has come. Then, you’re handed the keys, your picture is taken, the glass doors open and your brand-new car appears. You’re all set to go.”
I bet when it goes wrong though… it GOES WRONG!

The good thing is it’s a v1.5 – Homebrew here I come!

118-118

“This is what it feels like to be 118-118″
There’s a genius new advert on UK television at the moment sending up the ‘Honda Choir’ spot for the new Civic.
It’s made by the telephone directory enquiries service 118-118 (who’ve recently started doing other adverts sending up The A-Team). Rather than explain it (or spoil it) for you, just take a look.

What was your first car? Was it a little Fiesta/Corsa/Panda etc? I bet you had it because of insurance/cheap to run reasons right?
These were the vehicles I was looking at whilst having lessons late 2004/early 2005. None of them really appealed though as I would always be thinking ‘I’d like something a little bigger… with a bit more speed and reliability’.
There was always one car I’d liked the look of (more…)

Keyboard shoes
Posted on April 14, 2006, under Technology, World/Web News.
I know what your thinking… what can I get for my computer loving (read: Geek) partner for their Birthday/Christmas that’s a… bit different?
Well… the answer is (obviously) – Keyboard Shoes!
Made from old keyboards, these proto-type (sorry!) were shown off at the 14th China International Clothing & Accessories Fair in Bejing.
Yeah, because I’d really like to sit tapping my fingers on a keyboard all day, only to have my toes taping on keys on the way home too! Bizzare.
