Cameraless
Posted on August 5, 2006, by Darren, under Personal, Photography, Walking.
Well… its been around a week or so since I sold on my camera (Fuji S7000 – left) in preparation for my new arrival – either a Canon 20D or 30D.
It can’t come quick enough to be honest.
I should get it just in time to spend next weekend walking in Wales for a few days, and hopefully bring back a lot of new shots for my Landscape, Panoramic and Nature photography sections. Fingers crossed!
The Fuji has been a very good camera, producing a stack of, without sounding too smug, stunning pics as you can see from my photo sections (tabs at top of this site) on a variety of subjects. It never missed a beat, always performed as it should, was a great tool to learn on/with and has been superb value for money.
The S7000 was replaced with the S9500 last year which is another great camera from the Fuji stable (that too is shortly to be replaced by the awesome looking Fuji S6500fd which will have face detection hardware to enable the camera to recognise faces and optimise settings to get the best photograph in just 0.04 seconds!) – but it’s time to move on up to DSLR now.
I’m sure I’ll be posting pics of my new toy soon!

Cnicht & Moelwyn Mawr
Posted on July 12, 2006, by Darren, under Personal, Photography, Walking.
I completed Cnicht and Moelwyn Mawr peaks at the weekend (tick those off the list), and although not the biggest peaks in North Wales, they proved to be good ‘fall back’ routes.
I also managed to get 3-4 decent panoramics out of it too… which I’m in the process of putting together at the moment (right & panoramics section).

Snowdon

Just got back from a fantastic, bright sunny day’s walk up Snowdon. The weather was superb for October!
I’ll add in a panoramic image soon.
