Twidroid Pro on Android

Posted on August 16, 2009, by Darren, under Mobile Phone, Technology.

The cool Android app Twidroid is about to launch a Pro version soon. New pro features will likely include:

  • Multi-account support
  • Video posting
  • Desktop widget
  • bit.ly support
  • Follower listings
  • Interface themes

Having used the standard app on a T-Mobile G1 for a while now I can say that the app is very good at what it does, is stable and always seems fast and responsive. Sure some people don’t like it – but you can’t please all of the people all of the time can you.

Personal UPS

Posted on August 10, 2009, by Darren, under Technology.

imageA few months ago I picked up a personal UPS to use on my main computer. I plumped for a reasonably cheap version, one that only lasts up to 20 minutes but this is enough time to power the machine down and avoid those dreaded Windows harddisk / driver errors when a machine is turned off unexpectedly.

The Trust version I bought also has a spare surge protection port and a socket for a phone, good if you needed to keep an answering machine on etc.

Its worth getting one if you get regular power outages, or are paranoid like me.
